In addition to operating The Widget Cup® competition and offering student and educator industry tours throughout the year, the EDA partners with economic development and workforce training partners in surrounding localities on workforce development initiatives. The EDA is a founding partner of the seven-locality Worlds of Work career exploration event for 8th graders. The EDA hosted the inaugural Business & Education Summit, which led to the creation of The Workforce Initiative -- a Winchester, Frederick County, Clarke County, Warren County, and Shenandoah County, Virginia, partnership of leaders in business and education, collaborating to create the workforce of tomorrow.
